As I got a new haircut yesterday, I was looking up on the internet different hairstyles and how to get them done. I couldn’t resist to search my beloved Mohawks. I had no idea there were so many different styles of Mohawks… I means, I knew there were many different ways to have them and style them, but I wasn’t expecting to find so many on Wikipedia. Well… I was actually hoping to. But anyway… here’s the link so you can follow me. Mohawk hairstyle – Wikipedia
The Bi/Tri-Hawks are so funny! ahah. The Mollet ones are weird.
“If the hair is to be worn up, twenty minutes or more of laborious styling, including brushing, backcombing (teasing), twisting and so on, may be required. Some styles are particularly difficult to put up, requiring the use of very strong-hold hair gels and sprays, and in some cases other holding agents like shoe polish, tooth paste, white glue, egg whites, cornstarch or Knox gelatin. The amount of time required for styling may increase considerably with longer hair or styles that require even spikes and lines.”
I would NEVER put that on my hair.
But yeah, I LOVE Wikipedia. Really. If you want to laugh your face out, just read this…
“The Faux hawk is the most commonly seen hawk today. The Fauxhawk is characterized by a regular haircut that is faded up to the top where there is a longer square patch of hair. This hair style is worn by taking the longer hair and gelling it into the middle of the head to make a mohawk, usually less than an inch tall. This is called the fauxhawk because it does not have to be worn as a mohawk all the time and is unrecognizable as a mohawk without gel. Generally those with this hairstyle are considered preps or posers. Therefore, a fauxhawk is not a real mohawk. Also known as a poserhawk, fohawk, Eurohawk, or bitch-hawk.”
And by this they mean preps and posers aren’t idiots. That made me laugh!
And Reverse Hawks are stupid… the highways you know… looks like you shaved a piece of hair at the top of your head, and forgot to shave the rest. Anyway… it still looks better than Britney Spears… ahhaha. No, I prefer full bald then Highways. Just not on Britney. She just looks awful with any hair now a days.
Anyway, I’d wear Liberty Spikes though.
It is also amusing to watch “mainstream beauty” websites trying to have a go on punk fashion and hairstyles… they just mix everything! I know almost every today’s subculture, and consequentially their styles, developed from punk (it is true!) but there’s a line… that separated pseudo-punk hairstyles (and fashion in general) from the mainstream ones. And when they tell me that a regular emo-like hairstyle is punk, and even try to make me believe that and try to teach me how I can get them… I loose my mind. So, I’m no all-knowing, but at least I do my research, whereas they seem to be saying “We know it, and everything else are lies”. Because they talk about “myths” and “legends” that may “misinform and mislead you”. It annoys me.
And on the “Did you know…” section on Wikipedia’s main page:
“…that smoking (cigarette pictured) has a history that dates back at least 5,000 years and is one of the most widely practiced recreational activites in the world?” – Oh, really? No wonder they normally died from lung diseases.
“…that the dwarf pygmy goby (Pandaka pygmaea), a freshwater fish from the Philippines, is the smallest fish in the world” – Is that the one that goes up your urethra and get stock there?
“…that after the Hospital Real de Todos os Santos was destroyed in the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, its remains were demolished to create a public square?” – Ah! That one I did know!!
Anyways, today I chewed 8 gums… my jaws hurt pretty bad. And I think “Cancer” is the best My Chemical Romance song EVER! And since we were talking about Wikipedia, I’ll leave you with the “Today’s Feature Picture”. Peace out! xoxo
“A picture of cutlery made of biodegradable plastic. The image was created using photoelasticity, an experimental method to determine stress distribution in a material. The method is based on the property of birefringence, which occurs when a ray of light passing through a transparent material experiences two refractive indices.” – Pretty cool huh? (did anyone understand that? can anyone explain it to me? thank you.)
